I would personally never use any Lucas products, since all they really make is snake oil. It's probably cheap for a reason.

Where are you buying rotella? Wally World has it (and Delvac, Delo etc) for under $13 a gallon.

I can't imagine you would have an issue with it but I would not go out of my way to get it. But that is just me.

I my truck wouldnt start from low oil and the only oil the store had was Lucas, sure. But there are probably better options on your local shelf.

Im going Lucas with next oil change.
I run a website selling atv stuff and my supplier carrys the lucas line and stocks the Magnum Diesel-full Syn CJ-4. 15w40. for use in his trucks. I get it at cost. If I go rotella t6 its like $28 gal around here. I am running T3 now.

My supplier knows oil and diesels a lot better than I. He had all kinds of Mfg. testing sheets for the 3 oils comparing and all that nonsence when I happened to walk in. Its suppose to be a good CJ4 oil. For the price im trying it.

and Summit has the market cornered on Lucas Products. They sell for $4 more a case than my supplier pays. Its almost cheaper for us to buy from summit than be a lucas dealer.

Mobil and Shell probably pay their petro engineers and spend more money on r&d than Lucas is worth. Mine has had Mobil 1 since it was new. Its 15yrs old in Feb. and runs great. I'll stick with the tried and true.

I'd take a cab. I'm not a fan of Lucas.

I don't know about their diesel oil but if their gear lube is any example, I would look at almost anything else.
