Customer satisfaction program 13B08 Bad tranny hoses?

Just got this in the mail, says uncurred rubber in the tranny hoses, and I am about to go on 1000 mile trip with TT. Trying to get it in to dealer right away, any body know what to look for?

First I'm hearing about it, and after reading it, you're making the right decision before a long trip. Just googled it, details attached below.

The way I read this...it applies to build dates March 21, 2013 through May 16, 2013?

My door sticker says 2/13 and the best I can tell from the window stick 2/8/13, if I'm reading it right. So...I guess I'm ok?...Phew!

Mine has a build date of 5/9 so maybe when I get back to our homebase I will have a letter. It will be time for a free oil change so they both can be handled at the same time.

Good thing I checked the forum. My truck was built in early April, no word from dealer. I will put a call in tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks again for heads up. Dealer advised this is such a new bulletin mailings have not quite all gone out. Appointment made. Replace hoses that are affected.

My dealer is going to look it over today, I checked my hoses and they seem softer than I would think but that doesn't mean they are bad, they must be checking part #'s to see if they are bad. They didn't want to look at it until Mon. but I pushed to get it looked at today so they can order parts for mon. If needed. They get .2 hr for inspection per the recall so thats easy. They had not heard about the recall so mine will be the first for them, but it really doesn't explain what to look for, how can you tell if its uncured rubber?

I do not know how they would tell uncurred vs. curred....The service rep stated they will likely order new parts and be done with it.

My wife took my truck in and they said it passed inspection, there are inspection holes in the metal crimp of the hose and if the rubber is pushed out through the holes its good if not then they need replacing. My truck was built 4-9-13. When I get home I will have to check for myself because I have never heard of this before. Not sure which end of the hose they were looking at.

The way I'm reading it, it's the opposite, if hose is squeezed out, it's no good:

Service Action
Before delivering any of the vehicles involved in this program, dealers are to inspect the rubber hose crimp connectors on both transmission oil cooler lines. If any of the crimp connections show signs of extrusion (portion of the rubber hose "squeezed" out of the crimp), the transmission oil cooler line assembly will be replaced free of charge (parts and labor). This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the owner.

Service writers...

I'd like to think the tech/mechanic probably performed the correct check and the writer just miscommunicated it. May be worth checking it out yourself to confirm.
