86 thermostat housing question

Hi,
Just signed up but have been an avid reader for long time now. I am currently trying to bring back to life an 86 4.9 f150.Yesterday I was putting on a spare thermostat housing I had lying around, and cracked it, (lesson learned and next time using a torque wrench). Now I need buy a new one. But i have a question, Ive been trying to find the parts online. Found theese

Mr Gasket Chrome plated water necks/o-ring style - JCWhitney

Four Seasons Engine Coolant Water Outlet 84976 | Car Part Kings

Will theese work with a 300 6? Also the smaller outlet on mine had a split, where the temp sensor was screwed in. The part from jc whiney looks like its just a place for hose. The other one looks like I would need to screw in the small pipe, but the ones on mine are never going to unscrew from the housing. I tried. Is there any where I can buy this fitting piece? Any advice would be very appreciative.

**Just realized posted to wrong section.Mines 86. Not sure how to move it.

In all honesty, I think you would be much better off if you forgot online shopping for these...

Just take your old one with you to your local auto parts store and COMPARE the new one side by side with the old one, that way you will be much more likely to get the proper part....

E7TZ-8592-B (replaced E5TZ-8592-E & G) .. 4.9L (300 I-6) Thermostat Housing / Available from Ford / MSRP: $80.27 / FTE sponsor tousleyfordparts.com price: $48.57.

Applications: 1985/89 F150/350, Bronco & Econoline / 1990 F150/350, Bronco & Econoline before production date 2/10/1990.

Why buy online and then pay shipping charges, when you can whiz over to local autoparts stores and buy the puppy there?

And most of these online stores are located in the US, shipping the part to Canada (Quebec) and then paying added VAT and other nonsense voids any possible loonie savings.

It's also possible that the thermostat slipped out of the recess in the housing causing the housing to crack when you tightened it.

Thank for response guys. I tried going to local parts store already, it was my first thought. But all places I went to said they couldnt even order it. Maybe ill try hunt down a few more places. 2 diff places told me to try junk yards. But I kinda like to get it new. The one I cracked was used from a donor. Hence why I tried online next. Next time I will use a torque wrench and some RTV or something to hold thermostat in place in case.

Anyone know if there is a part number for the piece that screws into the housing? Which splits to allow hose and sensor? Mines never coming out of there without damage. And the original is full of holes.

I'm going through the same issue.

That pipe is E5TZ-18599C - but fuhgeddabout it...they're gold dust as new parts, even though there's some listings for them on the web.

Try wrecking yards - look for the complete stat housing and elbow assembly or take Steve83's advice and make one yourself using copper fittings.
