Extra Check Ball in Autolite 1100
Hi Guys!
This spark control (?) Check ball was not in my carb when I disassembled. (had only 2 with 1 weight) I put it in when I rebuilt it. What will this do? The vehicle is a 63 F100 4x2 (engine might be 68) I6, with 3 speed, spark control valve & combustion tube. Manual Choke. It runs good but when I set the idle, it creeps up when driving. I need to put a stop nut on the idle screw. My question is that check ball supposed to be there in what I think is the spark control valve?
Thank, hope to see you on the road!

There are MAJOR differences between 223/262 I-6's vs 240/300 I-6's, for example:
1961/64 223/262 I-6's: Intake/exhaust manifolds located on the left (drivers) side of the engine / 1965/96 240/300 I-6's: Intake/exhaust manifolds located on the right (passenger) side of the engine.
1963 first year for Auto-Lite (Ford) I-6 carbs. Ford truck parts catalog pic reflects 1963/64 only. Notice black square & triangle inre to check *****, then see below what these symbols refer to.
