Rear disc brake conversion question.

My truck currently is equipped with front discs and rear drums. I want to upgrade to four wheels disc brakes, but I do not want to add the power brake booster. Is there any foreseeable problems with four wheel non power brakes? Truck is a shortbed, regular cab two wheel drive.

Manual front and rear disc brakes are fine I have run them on a 65 mustang.

I would think it would require more pedal force for the same amount of stopping distance. Whether it would be too much, you would just have to try it and see.

When we did the upgrade we went from drum brakes to disc and it peddle pressure did not increase. Remember the rear brakes only do 20% of the stopping. The most important part is changing the proportioning valve to a dual disc or an adjustable one.

Why do you want to change you rear brakes out? Adding power brakes you would notice better performance.

Disc brakes are easier for me to work on, stop better, and look better.
