Today I drove to Chillicothe for my wife's family reunion. Fortunately there is a car show that same day. I eat and sneak out the door for a little while.

Well first off, we got there early and there was a 41 outside the Ford dealership. So I buzz by there to ask about old parts (They don't have any). The parts guy was very cool and the 41 is his. While we were talking places to find parts, a guy walks in and lays a blank check in front of him. It seems this guy has been trying to buy the 41 from him for about 33 years so far. That was a fun conversation for a while.

This F350 is for sale. Although he wants $20K for it. It has a newer Ford engine and transmission with 3.54 gears in the rear from a 70 something truck. I'm thinking he will be sitting on it for a while at that price.

I don't think I saw any of these the week before in Branson at the Ozark Run??? It would be great to get all the Ford truck guys from MO to show up at once. I keep finding guys around St Louis one at a time that:
1. Have never heard of FTE
2. Must have been burnt by clubs because they Aren't interested in being in one

Looks like a great show. I was not even aware of it or I might have driven up from KC just to check out the trucks. I am making some steady progress on my 55 F100 and it takes up most of my free weekend time but every so often I get away and go check out a local show....helps keep me motivated!

 

Pretty neat Y-block T-Bird valve cover installation. I have seen some articles on how to make adapters to put them on a SBF but I have never seen them on a car/truck. Those headers look like they are for an LS1 engine...any idea what engine that was?

 

You need to put it on your calendar for next year. It is always the third Saturday in July. Chillicothe Car Show
They have a cruise night Friday. I have never made that part of the show, but they have lots of cars out and I think it is basically a parade of old cars. One year I drove through a bit before the cruise (I was not allowed to stop.) and people were lining the streets to watch.

Unfortunately I don't know what kind of engine that was, but it was sharp.

 

Looks like a 302 to me, I have the same Edelbrock Endurochrome intake on mine. I was able to find the article on the Y-block valve cover mod...if I had a set of T-bird covers laying around I would be really tempted to do it. Vintage Looks, Modern Guts - Custom Classic Trucks Magazine

 

Those are 93-97 ford wheels on that long chevy. Did the chevys use the same bolt patter back then or does that thing have ford axles?

 

It is my understanding that both Ford & GM used the same 8 lug pattern for years. It wasn't until recent years that they parted ways. That truck is a 1954 or perhaps an early 55 series 1.
