The car has less than 1,000 and I noticed while driving the console screen, on either side of steering wheel, has gone dark and then flashes back on. Anyone else having the same problem?
Thanks
Oh and trading the limited in for this was a great thing. Dam this thing is nice and punchy.

Hi montey2005,
I'm sure your dealership would be happy to take a look at this and get it sorted out. If you don't want to make a special trip, you can always bring it up at your next maintenance appointment. Keep us in the loop and feel free to reach out if you need my assistance.
update: so far it hasn't come back since I did the last sync update which I did myself. The update took just about an hour which is, in my book, way too long while having to leave the car running. I really wish Ford would find an alternative to sync, this is killing your customer experience.
I have had the same issue with the dash going black for 20-30 seconds then coming back to life. Not sure if it doing updates but I have to go to the dealer for a transmission issue so I will ask.

any update? Seems that when you use the NAV the system goes black but only when using the NAV. Surely Ford will say it's a software update but I have the latest and it's still came back. I'm scared to drive it out of town thinking there's an electrical gremlin that will shut me down.
There is a TSB from last year that has the dealer install updated software in the cluster. The update is only for vehicles built from June through August. Any others, you're on your own.
I have a 2014 Explorer Sport that was built in July 2013. We experienced the instrument control panel going in an out after the first My Ford Sync update. I took the SUV to the dealer to perform the TSB update and the car is still doing it. Just wondering if anyone out there who has a similar car built in the date rate that the TSB refers to has been able to get this issue resolved. Between this, significant paint issues and a door out of alignment I'm a little frustrated as $50k cars shouldn't have these issues...
