In 2004 my wife had an accident with the old '99 Taurus. While it was being repaired we rented a 2004 Tahoe from the dealer located rental person. It was a very nice truck, drove and handled quite well.

She decided she wanted a large SUV and to the Ford dealer we went. The Expy is more truck like IMHO and I feel that it's better built. We've had it for nearly 12 great years with minimal issues.

An 05 is only 10 years old, not 12 like his expedition. A lot can happen in those next 2 years. Like you said, he's already starting to have problems. We'll see!

Sure it is, but before you can compare it's longevity to the 12 year old expedition it first has to reach 12 years of age. Otherwise you're just comparing apples to oranges.

I would not buy anything made by Guberment Motors.
They quit making three great lines Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn. Now some of the Saturn Automobiles are being encompassed into GMC and Chevrolet. And maybe Buick.
They made imitation Hummers for awhile. Now you give me an original Hummer from American General and I might think about it and I for sure would buy a Chrysler Product before I would drive or even rent a GM product.

True. I'm pretty sure that I would much rather have a ram over a 1500. But for cars between chrysler and gm I would go with an impala compared to the likes of the 300.
