Clicking/arcing sound from E4OD on shutdown

My E4OD shifts fine, no problems to report, except: every time I turn the truck off, I can hear a clicking sound (what it really sounds like is electrical arcing) coming from what I think is the transmission. It happens once a second or once every two seconds, for 10-15 seconds after shutting the engine off.

Any ideas? Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be causing any problems, but it's worrisome. Can you pull codes from the transmission computer using the same method as the engine codes?

Gee, no electrics are hot to the trans when the key is off...
Try disconnecting the batteries as quickly as possible after shutdown & see if you still hear it...

I thought about that too, but it will happen even if I only run the engine for 30 seconds (after sitting overnight). I don't think that's enough time to get things hot enough to expand and contract.

Easy...Turn key to "run" without starting the engine to energize the tranny then turn off, If it electrical that will tell ya its a computer/wiring issue...When I built my wiring harness I found the donor trucks circuit breaker for the transmission was rusted to the on position so it was always energized but it would wear down the batteries,Yours may be going out and arching the solenoids.

I got under there the last time I shut it off, and to be honest now I'm not so sure if it's coming from the trans or the exhaust pipe. I'll do more exploring.
