brake issue
1995 f350 351w 4wheel drive long wheel base supercab, front brakes new rear brakes completely rebuilt, most of the time the left rear brake will grab first and tend to hold, it will lock up if hit to hard, 3 years ago replaced undersized master cylinder that is common with the 95 model, but is not consistent once in a while they work fine, any help here? one other problem, the transmission will sometimes act stupid. the overdrive light will flash and the shifting will be very harsh. had the transmission rebuilt maybe 3 years ago, did not solve the problem, took the truck back three times and they pulled the transmission each time and could not find the problem,$2200 later still the arratic shifting and now it seems to be getting worse any help with this? thanks

Did you rebuild the brakes...or a shop? Sounds like the automatic brake adjuster is adjusting too tight on the left side. Could be because the right side is not adjusting and the left side is stressed hard enough to over-adjust. Check to see if the right side adjuster is seized.
When they re-built/checked your tranny I assume they checked your torque converter?

The O/D light flashes when either the torque converter is slipping excessively, or one of the shift solenoids are not working correctly or at all for that matter. You need to get it hooked up to a quality scanner asap. If you keep driving it like that you will burn up the tranny real fast. It goes into limp mode when the light is flashing which puts full line pressure to the trans which gives those neck snapping shifts which are no good for anything inside the trans let alone your neck. This will overheat the trans in no time flat and cook it.

You can use a cheap paper clip to check for codes: Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test
As far as the brakes go.....I had a similar issue pop up on my old 1992 F350 after I had owned the truck for 3 years. The right side rear brake was adjusting itself to full lock. After a little head scratching then tearing into the rear drums I found the cause. A PO had used the leading brake shoes for both right side shoes. I surmised each time I stepped on the brakes (forward or reverse) the auto-adjuster was ratcheting the shoes further open. My theory may not be true, but I never had a problem after I fixed that sin from the past.
When I looked at the driver side I found original shoes and hardware! What kind of moron only replaces one side of the brakes.........
