Long Time Lurker, First Time Poster
Hello to all the Michigan FTE members!
Just want to introduce myself and my truck. My name is Mason, and I got the chance to buy my father's old truck. I don't need this much of a truck but it has sentimental value to me, and I enjoy driving it.
A little about me: I'm a very big car guy. I have been for a long time. I come from a tuner/import background so this truck is a lot simpler than I'm used to. I enjoy working on it and its is my first carb'd truck/car. I don't post much but I've been lurking on this forum for a while looking for information as I work to fix problems on the truck. I figured this would be a good time to introduce myself, post pics of the truck, and give people a name and truck behind the username. I currently live in Ann Arbor.
A little about the truck: The truck is a 1987 Ford F350. Chassis Cab, dually, 4x4, 460, 4 speed stick, and I believe is has 4:10 gears. The odometer has been rolled a couple of times. Currently has about 320k miles with a reman engine in the early 2000's.
Mods:
Bed tank
Carter (Edelbrock) AFB 600
Edelbrock Performer intake
Doug Thorley headers
Stewart Warner tach
We rescued the truck out of a field in ND (where its lived its life) and got it running well enough to get it to Michigan.

This is the truck when we were 'rescuing' it. That's my brother with the photobomb.

Once we got it to MI with my new (to me) 4wheeler.

Literally 2 days after it made it to MI. Bolts on both sides were loose/broken/ruined so I had to extract all of them and replace them.
Since then I've had multiple issues:
Bad positive terminal connection
Replaced alternator
Replaced heater core
Cleaned out the bed tank and mid tank
Cleaned out the carb
There are a lot of good weekend projects left on the truck.
Looking forward to learning more about this truck and keeping this dinosaur on the road.

Thanks guys!
Part of the reason I posted in the Michigan chapter is that I'm looking to expand the truck part of my automotive network. Does anyone have any good recommendations for tire/alignment shops or good parts places that will carry some of the odd ball parts that a place like Autozone wouldn't carry?
Chad - you wouldn't happen to have a headlight switch/dash dimmer switch would you?

Welcome Mason!
As for parts, most of the electronics are similar to the half ton, and Bronco's from the era. I would look into Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, they are a good source for some of that stuff.
of course check out the classifieds in the main forum area for stuff you may need from the members. Most are more than happy to keep an eye out for stuff and let you know what they find.

Thanks for the tip, Toyman!
And thanks for all of the welcomes everyone.
A little of what I was up to this past weekend...

I bought a new to me Honda CRF250. Anyone else ride? I'm open to suggestions on good places to go riding this coming spring. I've been riding around Mio and Silver Lake. Locally I go to a place called Bundy Hill.
