Need dynamic timing performed in Houston
I would like to know if anyone knows of a shop or individual that does this in the Houston area. Or any other information about who rents tools, etc. Basically any way to get this done! I have visited most of the reputable shops in my area and I get a look when I ask about it!
Thank you.
Thank you.

well since you also asked about any method to get it done.the best way to time the idi these days,is to simply buy the tools.these are not professional grade "meters" that the shops used to use back in the day or anything, however they are much more affordable and get the job done and accurately.

hey i forgot to mention that Gary over on oil burners is renting the meters again!
hot dang, that just slipped my mind.he asks reasonable rates too.
go to oilbuners.net find the 6.9/7.3l idi section, look up member: icanfixall send him a pm.he'll hook ya up.
if something happens to the meter during it's use.be sure to let him know asap.he's doing it as a helping hand, not a money making event,so be straight up with him.heck of a guy.

Dynamic timing? Buy one of these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Diesel-Timing-Adapter-for-Ford-and-GM-/271034840050?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item3f1aef73f2&vxp=mtrWorks great on my 7.3 IDI. You need a timing light of your own, but that and this is all you need.
Note that these seem to be new old stock, so the 9V battery inside the box will likely be dead; just a matter of 4 philips screws to replace it.
If you don't have a timing light, spend the $80-150 and get a decent digital one with advance and built-in tach. It's so worth it.
