new to these trucks and have questions

Hi all. I'm usualy in the 73-79 truck forumns but am about to bring home a 59. I had a few questions.

It seems to be a column shift manuel. How does that work? Can it be converted to a floor shifter easy?

Does anyone make new gauges that will fit in the original cluster?

Is there anything I should look for right away that's a concern?

It has a v8 from the 70s. Could this be a concern suspension wise or anything? Its a 2wd.

I have a extra cab. What do you think its worth? Rust and dent free.

1. Glad you got a Fridge.

2. Three speeds were on the column but the 4 speeds were often floor shifters, they can be found.

3. I have seen folks put aftermarket guages in the cluster but I prefer the originals.

4. Do you have a big enough bank account.

5.V8's have often been put into Fridges, no trouble. They came from the factory with V8's from the 50's and 60's, if ordered that way. No problem.

6. The cab would probably bring the most if parted out if it's as good as you say.

If these answers so curt, I can always make up some more!
