I need the shifter and linkage for a T170 4sp overdrive. These trannys were in vans and P/U from 77 thru 83. This is all I need to get my 65 F100 back on the road and I can't find one anywhere. I can send pics of the trans. to help ID it if you think you have one or look in the Hurst catalog trans. pages for #435. No relation to a NP435. I'm about ready to give up and put a C6 in.

Are you sure it's not a RUG? Hurst does have a shifter for Ford 4 speed OD tranny.

 

Tranny tag is RUG CL 08UREA. According to a ID page on the web that means it is a T170F which is a SMOD. The Hurst catalog tranny ID section calls it a 3+1 Overdrive and the picture matches. Their # is 435. To be honest I'm not too sure what it is right now and I don't know how to go about making certain. If you can help I sure would appreciate it.

I think you have the right tranny. Hurst shifter p/n for that tranny is 391-0024 according to the online catalogue.

 

Thanks for the part # Loudfords. I called Hurst direct and a tech found the install kit to match the part #you gave me. All I have to do is order it and I'm on the road again. I couldn't get the catalog to come up on my PC and the dealer told me nothing was available. Terry
