rebuild or...
trucks been backfiring alot and pretty weak middle of the gears, figured id take it to a guy see if the carb needed tuning or if i should get a new exhaust
( bought it with some random exhaust off a bus, headers then this thing, i believe its a 2.5-3' pipe and a rather big cat)
guys calls my dad about lunch.
says i need to rebuild my carb.
ive been looking at the cliff intake, headers, and a new carb( kinda liking the dual 32/36 since i dont think a single 32\36 would be enough, whats the stock carb rated at?
read online cliff is not all its made out to be
should i go ahead with all the swapping, getting a wiring harness and swapping the ecu with a non feedback carb truck, getting a carb tuning it, exhaust, heat plate?
should i simply rebuild it? a kit is like 30$, would that mess with the electronics?
get a reman carb?
mind you in roughly a month ill be making a 4hr drive to sc and living there for the next few years, so i wont have all my connections readily availabe as before
thanks for any advice

Cheapest thing would be to put a kit in the carb. If it runs good otherwise and everything is original and hooked up.
If there is a bunch of stuff disconnected, then I would go ahead and swap the ignition out. That will pay for itself in fuel mileage savings in a few months if the engine is not running right because stuff is disconnected.
