Patch Panel Comparison F-100/250/350 to F-500/600
Ok...here's a longish question that may or may not be easy to answer. I know that my truck (F-500) has larger wheel openings than the F-100/250/350. Here's the question: Is the F-100 front fender (particularly the lower part, near the door) the same size with the exception of the larger lip/smaller wheel opening for the "light" trucks and the "medium" trucks?
I was wondering if using a patch panel for the F-100 would work, with a little cutting and bending to shape the wheel opening while retaining the shape of the lip/contor line. I was thinking that if the F-100 fender could be overlayed on mine that I could trace the opening cut line, leave myself some extra metal for finishing, cut the F-100 patch panel, use a metal brake to provide a clean edge that matches the good part of my existing fenders, then graft them together and cure the cancer that caused a hole in both front fenders.
Maybe one of you owns both types/sizes of trucks and could tell if a modified F-100 patch panel would work for me. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks!
