Local dealer said approx 5 grand for the bed plate along with the front and rear seals if I were to bring it in just for that repair.

Just breaking those numbers down in my head the dealer is looking for 40-45 labor hours to do that job......I don't think so! What's the currant shop quote to do the bed plate as a separate repair?

I was thinking the same thing. You'll have 12 hours r&r motor. Then it kind of right there. Maybe 4 hours total out of chassis. Should be at tops, 18-20 hours labor hour.

At any rate, it's far cheaper to get it done now. I authorized the repair...now I just have to figure out how I'm going to pay for the additional repairs.

Seems high, but book time on that is in the neighborhood of 25 hours. Figure a five hour bump on top, then a labor rate of $100... Still high, but they might be flying under the "Under-promise & over-deliver" program rather than having to call you halfway through the job to try & get more money....

I scrounged the funds together and paid all but $300 of the repair which I will give when I pick up the truck. I went to the the shop today to have a look and see where he's at...the block is about an hour from being out for the bed plate repair. I went ahead and replaced the LPOP gerotor parts. The entire engine will have new seals, o rings, etc...the only thing I'm not touching is the rotating assembly, which looked to be in great condition. I should take delivery in 2 weeks from today. This took a lot longer than I anticipated as well as a lot more coin. Oh well, it's only money and the engine will be completely updated and should run forever now. I can only hope it will....

Haha!!! Well, the mechanic called me around noon last Saturday and said he had to get to the UP because his grandfather got into a motorcycle accident and was at War Memorial Hospital in the Soo. He spent a few days up there and got back on Tues. I spoke with him last night and I will be picking it up this Sunday. Hopefully....
