The 6.7s seem to be holding their value very well. At least up where I live

I am glad I fond this thread. I am in the same spot as the OP. Not a bad spot by no means, but a tough one for me because I normally keep my trucks for awhile. Driving an 05 now. Our situation is almost the same. I am not considering a diesel on the 250 but the 6.2 gasser. I would like to get a 15' MY in the 250. Good luck Whatever you decide on and enjoy it.

Considering a '15 MY 250 myself, will be the 6.7 if that is the case though. Gonna be a beast (440HP / 860 TQ). Still haven't made a decision though.

Decisions, decisions, I really would like to get the diesel. I keep telling myself I do not need it, I want it, but it REALLY would not be as economical for my use as gas. Who knows I might be back regretting my decision. Hopefully not. Not to hijack this thread, but which model are you looking at and options. I would like the Platinum or Lariat with some added options to go with.

Platinum, FX4 package, Moonroof, Pecan Leather... I Love the Tuxedo Black, but hate to try to maintain it, looking at the White or Silver. Oh and the tailgate step, hard to get my fat A$$ in the bed otherwise!!

I don't need that much truck either, diesel is outrageous, but what the heck, if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing!!

Anyone willing to spend 50-60k on a truck should get a Raptor. It's the only truck in lineup that will actually let you drive. All the max trim levels are gonna come with advancetrac which is a horror story this year.

Plus, having owned a Cobra, I can tell you SVT builds a phenomenal vehicle. Get one now while they're still steel lol.

I agree, only if he isn't going to use it as a "truck". the long travel suspension takes alot away from towing, payload, etc. If he's using it to "cruise" with an occasional light load in the bed or say pulling a small boat, more than adequate. The Raptor just isn't designed for much more than that. It is an awesome machine though!

If this makes your decision easier, I've been told MY2014 raptors are done. So you're only luck is to pick one up from a dealer, and without a '15 and the Raptor future unknown now, I'd bet they are going to be pricey! No wonder the dealer is begging for mine when my SD arrives.

I looked at a Ruby Red Raptor today. Special edition. Man it was nice. I am going to the
Town over from here 45 miles. A large Ford dealer stocks a lot of trucks. I really did like the Ruby Red Metallic Raptor. They had a Tuscany Black Ops also. That is an option, at least for the look, I am not military, so I just would not feel right about driving a military
appointed truck. Not a poser here. Not that it should matter to some but it does to me anyway. I have nephews who are Marines, dad was in the Navy. Damn fine truck though.
So down to the crunch time. Now I gotta decide on a 2014 pr 15 for the 250 provided it is what I ago with. I wonder what the difference in the 14 to the 15's. As fas as the updated suspension and if they tinkered with the 6.2l motor. Anyone know of any changes. Thanks.

Not sure about any suspension changes, if any. The 6.7L will have 40 more HP and 60 more lb/ft torque (440 / 860) and an upgraded tow rating, so I'm sure there will have to be some minor suspension changes. The Black Ops edition is actually themed on the video game (Call of Duty - Black Ops) albeit a military one. They sponsered Jeeps, 250's, 150's, etc.. If you like the truck, go for it. I'm an Ex- Marine, I wouldn't think you were a "poser", I also think some of the price goes to one or more of the Veterans charities.

You'll pay more for the Ruby Red Metallic Raptor as it is a limited edition run, but it will also be worth more later on down the road. If you are seriously looking at buying a Raptor, go online and broker a deal, alot of times you can get alot better deal. All of the dealerships down here add $8 to$10K on top of the MSRP, they call it AMV (adjusted market value). I know a guy that actually purchased a Extended Cab Raptor for $44K and they wanted $56K for the exact same truck in our home town. $500.00 in shipping was cheap in that case.

Thanks Rigtrash601, great idea on the online dealer option You nailed it on the market value adj. They are asking a premium and getting it in most cases. I just need to get off my a.. And make up my mind. Your right about the Black ops, a donation or a % goes to the Wounded Warrior Fund. Tuscany is the after market company who take a Lariat and build on that.

I went with the 250 for the towing capabilities. I have already had it off road and it performed great

The F250 or 350 are great haulers and tow trucks, but a Shelby Raptor is a ton of fun! Over 600 HP.

Here we are loading a 17,000# bucket on my 13 F250. Factory overloads and 6.2 gad with 4.30 gears. Get the 4.30 gears if you only plan to haul a loaf of bread. The six speed is so high gears that you only turn 2300 rpm in sixth at 80 mph. Any other gears are a joke and should be outlawed. 4.88 gears woul work much better in the gas trucks.
