I live in az and washboard roads are what made me sell my rock crawler jeep and buy a full size truck. I drive the road to Young az and it is similar to what you describe. These jack ***** that dis you have no idea what it is like to drive one of these roads. I say live and learn, go buy Ranchos and move on. Thanks for the info

Rancho sucks!!!!!!
Bilstien much better at controlling the wheels
Usually the best shock is the factory ones, look how long they last!
If you can't drive it like you stole get rid of it!

Sorry you feel that way.
A monotube IS very good at dampening but for many it is too firm. I like the style though...

You obviously have never owned a Ford truck because the stock shocks are 100%, lowest bidder, leaky, weepy, wet noodle pieces of garbage. Mine lasted about 20,000 miles before rendering my truck nearly un-drivable. Or maybe you are being sarcastic?? OP...sorry for your bad experience, Bilstein should have stepped up and dealt with this. Fortunately I have had no problems with mine for over 30,000 miles, but I don’t drive off road that often, just junky rural roads.

2007 F250 4wd SD...Not happy with Bilstein HD either. Too firm for me. Don't know if its related but at 150k on truck and less than 10k on BHD's I replaced both exhaust manifolds because of cracks.
They seem to "seek out" potholes in NJ. No joke.
I did all this research and thought BHD's were my best choice. I tow a 14' trailer from NC to NJ a couple times a year and don't do any off-roading at all. I drive my truck very conservatively as I do most of my own repairs. On to Rancho 9000's for me.
Just my 2cents.

I used to have the stainless M7100 series bilsteins with remote reservoir on a 2000 f350 and they were junk. I had the top shock mounts snap off the body of the shock on both rear shocks. It was never taken off road or used to haul/tow and they broke at different times. I will never buy bilstein shocks again.
