need a cheap paint..

Alright going to be painting a horse trailer and Im looking for an acrylic enamel to paint it with. I just want a nice gloss that will hold up. I looked into summit, but the reviews online that I saw said that if clear is not sprayed over it, that it wouldnt have a good gloss. (I dont want to have more than one step. 2 heavy coats and forget it. Their paint was 110 ish for a gallon with reducer and activator (not bad at all), but its a urethane not an enamel...

I'm not a painter, but I used NASON Machinery and Equipment acrylic enamel from Dupont on my truck frame. It went on pretty easy, was fast drying, and looks good. It seems to be holding up pretty good so far.

I can't remember how much it cost, but it was a cheaper paint.

For a horse trailer I would go to the farm supply store and get some equipment paint. It is cheap and very easy to shoot and shines well

Well i have used fast dry stuff (nason) Its about 33.00 per quart and 7 for activator and i forget the reducer price. The only problem with that paint is that it drys too fast... So id have to probably tape off sections and paint it that way. (maybe i should try a slower reducer) I dont really want to paint with an oil based paint because it will sit in the sun and im afraid it will burn it up within a few years. I have strongly considered both and I will probably paint it with the rustoleum or valspar stuff, but since its being sandblasted and patched i feel like i should put a better product on it, but money is very tight on this project. So I thought about buying cheap epoxy instead of the rustoleum bare metal primer. I painted a frame with rustoleum rusty metal primer and then valspar black and it turned out great, but its been done for a year and dont know how it will hold up. Those are the tow options i also had in mind too.

Maybe ill give that a shot. I have a tractor supply real close. Should I epoxy the bare metal. Spraying over bare metal scares me.
