Looking for a Diesel Mechanic Near Grand Rapids

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good diesel mechanic near GR? Someone within an hour would be great. I have an F250 6.0L I'd like someone to take a look at.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't know any highly trained professionals in those parts. What's your truck doing, might be able to talk ya through it. And stop by more often!

He never called me back when I was trying to get a price on head gaskets on the 06 I was looking at.

I can understand being busy, or not wanting to do the work. But tell a guy up front if it is too much to handle in his shop.

I would drink the beer first and throw the empty at him......

10-4 man. Thats not the guy that he usually is. If he doesn't want the work he'll recommend someone. Knowing Al for the last 20 years tells me that he probably forgot. He's a good guy man, I'm telling ya. And he drives an F-150 because, "I work on cars all day, the last thing I want to do is work on mine at night."

bringing this to the top.

given my current vehicle needs and situation i know i should downsize my truck, but before i commit 100% i want to see what i would have into ARPs, gaskets, and a fresh oil cooler (already have full EGR delete and updated FICM). does anyone have any prices? i'd drive a couple hours for the right price. looks like ~$1500 in parts from bullet proof diesel.

I can sell you a trailer, but I can't fix Brandons truck. I mean if we really put ourselves to it you could tie up Mikes hoist and get a manual and we can all tackle it.

Don't need to sell you one. Just need to sell you where to put your "X" on the paperwork.....

Hey Brandon, I met a guy last night that spoke really highly of Dykstra Auto Repair in Byron Center on 6.0L repairs. He has 2 of them and says the guy is legit. As soon as I can get a number and a contact persons name I'll post it up.

I too am finding myself in need of an honest and legit 6.0 tech. Looking like I might need gaskets, studs, and EGR/Oil cooler work done. Never fails, you fix one thing and five others break. I am out in Grand Haven and would love some info for anyone who has a line on a good shop. Would love to tackle it myself, but I really don't have the time or the tools to commit to the project.
