Think your accel pedal position sensors bad? Think again.

This is interesting. What I get is a buck at about 45-50 when you are just lightly feathering the throttle. I'm guessing after reading here and the other thread going by Byron that mine is the adjustment on the TPS. You open the throttle a little and the fuel doesn't get there as fast as the air so you get a stumble... I guess.
As to the single pole switch, I found a mystery switch on my truck at RRE and it was hidden in behind the fuse panel. Flick it off and you get all the lights but no start. I think it is wired into the ignition switch.
Finally, spilling your wife's ice-cream is a serious no-no, so you better nip that in the bud!!! lol

So,to be clear, you are not using the IVS at all? I have a new one on the way, but have been having absolute hell with this and it won't be here until Monday. I replaced the TPS twice...same problem. I then got another CEL and no throttle. I took the IVS off and the truck runs fine...better in fact! Is there any harm in removing it or just letting it hang? I can't take the buck anymore either. It is about the drive me crazy!

Gentlemen, I hope this is not considered a thread hyjack because that's certainly not my intention, please accept my apology if I am in the wrong. Can anyone tell me what an IVS is? I am working on a '97 model 250 that is having the same type issues as described in this thread. The sensor mounted on the throttle pedal, not sure what it's called, is spring loaded like an old wind up alarm clock. I can only find one sensor under the dash on the pedal assembly. In the last 10 months there have been 4 of these sensors installed and now the last one has gone bad, well the same symptoms have returned anyway. Do all 7.3s have TPS and/or IVS or what? This is ALL new to me and I thank you for your input and again I apologize if this is considered a thread hyjack.

There's a sensor and a switch. All the OBS PSDs (not all 7.3s) have both. The sensor is basically a "volume ****", a variable resistor. The spring is just the pedal return mechanism. The sensor connector has three wires; the switch connector has two. The switch works like a fridge door switch; closes as soon as you move the pedal and the little tab moves away from the plunger.

Thank you mad, I appreciate it. I'm not sure which way to turn but I do know a little more now. If I may ask another question please. I can only find one "sensor" under the dash on the pedal assembly. Is there any type of "accelerator"/"throttle" sensor under the hood of a '97 F250 7.3? Thank you again for your help.
