fuel tank

hello I came across this from a friend that took a ford class and he was told that the fuel tanks on f series diesels at about 150000 miles is coming apart clogging injectors and and messin up injectors pmps. you will see black particles in your fuel filter or truck will start running poorly. Ford will not recall them. Has this happen to anyone. im thinkin on replacing my fuel tank with a aluminum one.

dont forget the Vans. (i know not as many of us around as you truck guys lol)

you should have a poly tank and maybe a good cleaning. but like mentioned unless you have Steel. there might be something else that needs attention.

can you be more specific on your issue. is there junk in your filter fuel bowl? leaks etc???

best of luck

If it is messing up injection pumps it would be prior to 1994. Snakedoc do you have a reference for the problem with the transfer flow Main tank having problems on the 450-550?

The only thing that is going to happen is not due to the truck itself. What will happen is the screens that were put in the tank to protect the truck from dirty batches of fuel over time will clog up and need to be cleaned or do the hutch mod. I hope your buddy didn't pay much for that class....

The 450s share the same parts as the 250s if I recall right. Aside from d50 I believe they may have d60
