i want a cabover

i have a 2006 ford ranger 2wd 2 dr super cab,3.0 v6 efi, i want to purchase a cabover camper for my pick up,but don't know what limit or weight limit my stock truck will carry? also,is there anything that i will need to install on my truck now to make my truck worthy to carry say 1000 lbs, and in comparison on a 1500 lb cabover....thanks
