Where can I buy a new fuel filter check valve tower and all the related parts , especially the spring ??

I am rebuilding my fuel bowl and when I got to taking apart the check valve tower in the fuel bowl , I LOST THE DARN SPRING and can't find it .

Now I gotta find a new one where ??

Thank-you for your replies .

Well the good part is the spring and check valve are not needed. The idea behind the design is to eliminate the chance that you can run the truck without a fuel filter. The spring closes the check valve when no filter is installed and when you install a filter it compresses and opens up. You could probably just get a spring locally and make it work.

So if I put any spring in there close enough to the original , the truck should run .

I will put it back together and see if it will run with no issues .

Other then that , I guess I will have to go to a scrap yard to try and find one .

I agree with woodnthings.

However, if you want one the stealership sells them.

Al, That one is for the OBS trucks. I didn't see the SD one, but Bob may very well sell it.

Like woodsnthings said, you don't actually need it if you don't want it. Just don't try to run the truck without a filter.

I have been running without the spring for about a year now. Don't need it.
That spring mechanically closes off the fuel supply when the wrong (or no) filter is installed. The correct filter has a push pin in the center to push the spring cap down. Some filters have too short of a pin or no pin to let fuel in the bowl, and won't work with the engine.

Thank-you all for your replies !

I put the truck back together with a spring that I found in a buch of spare parts . Not the exact spring but one that was close to it . I had to guesstimate the length that I had to cut the spring . I must have made close to the right length because the truck started up with no leaking and I was able to take it for a drive with no issues .

Thanks again !!
