Gauge rebuilders?

I have the original gauges from my 55 f100 but they are faded and stuff and wanted to get them refinished and rebuilt. Is it better to just buy the kit from midfifty, or does someone rebuild them?

I did my own. I posted pictures and a description of it here in this forum. I used dayglo paint to touch up the needles, that really made them pop.

Post 25 on page 2 of this thread describes gauge adjustment. Testing is easy and is also described in this thread. You can buy the seal from Mid-Fifty.

Check with United Speedometer and Electrical. It may be a little pricey but they do a great job...United Speedometer and Electrical > Home

I searched and couldn't find it? Did you do face too or just needle?

I bought the upgraded ones from Mid Fifty, they're ok. I would hunt down some NOS ones, I did that on my '47 car cost about $20 a gauge (small ones) and found a real nice used speedo and clock.

NOS would be 6v though right? Guess I'd have to get a converter for it to 12v.
