help with fuel flow problem

1990 4WD F250 w/ the V6.

Two fuel tanks, will not feed from front tank. Both tanks have fuel in them. Yesterday ran fine on front tank.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

sounds like the low pressure pump in the tank is not working. Could be the pump, switch or maybe the valve that switched on the frame is not switching.

help with fuel flow problem

Thanks lxman.

The switch works - the front tank was selected but would not run this morning. After switching tanks, it ran fine. After it warmed up, I switched tanks a couple of times and the engine started dying each time on the front tank.

Are there pumps for both tanks?

You should have a high pressure pump on the frame and a low pressure pump in each tank which feeds the high pressure pump.
