How to seperate the intake from exhaust manifold flathead 6 226 254

I need some tips on separating the manifold. I've soaked the bolts with ATF/Acetone mix, tapped lightly on the intake and tried tapping a small flathead screwdriver in between the two in the gasket material but they seem very happy together.
The intake is broke but the exhaust is good, so I'm trying to be careful to save the exhaust manifold. they always seem to be broke so I'm hoping I can sell this thing, assuming I can get them apart. I also thought about leaving them together and letting the new owner deal with it but it ads a lot of weight.

thanks for any ideas on this.

Josh - I don't think there are any quick solutions. I did the same on my 215 manifolds over a span of months. Soaking, tapping, and mild heat are the only means I know of to get them apart. Stu

Can you stick a rosebud down in the carb opening and heat the bottom of the intake plenum?

Perhaps the electrolysis tank. The manifolds will not rust any additional while in the tank. I've successfully pulled rust from the seams of sheetmetal but never tried it on cast.

Be careful with the gas wrench. Too much heat and you can ruin them, ask me how I know. Stu
