Smile 1968 F250

I would like to gather some info on this truck. I have an 11 digit VIN but have yet to decode it properly. VIN as follows: F25YRC17445. It has a V8, am guessing 360, not sure. I would also like to find a value for this truck as it is for sale. Tried to upload a photo but that failed. Not sure why. Will try again. More detail in my garage. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the decoding Bill; now my next hurdle is to try and value this truck. I tried to put up a photo or two but have discovered they are too large to post. I will try and downsize them and see if that works. Paul.

Could we see some pictures? Here is how.

But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Do not believe the 81,147 miles shown on the odometer, as it reads to 99,999.9 then returns to ZERO!

For what it is worth, the truck has not been driven more than 200 miles in the past 20 years. I drove most of those miles. It was purchased used by the current owner in 1969 and used for family camping trips in southern CA an in NV until the kids were too old or moved away. I understand the roll over possibility but am inclined believe 81K as I have known the owner for nearly 34 years. Never the less, can anyone ballpark a value for me or is that not in the cards.

As to the thumbnails, when I go to the link it gives me a pic half the size of my 22" moniter. Can't tell you what may be wrong. PRY

Copy/paste the IMG code. When viewing your pictures on photobucket, there's a box to the right of the picture with a set of links, one of them is the IMG one, and just click it as that will automatically copy it to your "clip board" and you can paste it into the forum.

Better, nice truck. If I may, select preview post, before submit reply, you will see what we will see before you post.

I appreciate the help I have been given to get this done. I guess that posting work. Maybe too good. Is it usual for the pics to appear within the thread like this? I thought the links would just take you out to them. Now I have to ask if there is a portion of the site I can discuss values of this truck or is there another website that addresses that ? The owner would like to get a realistic value so as to list the truck for sale.

Again I should thank anyone beforehand for assistance. This has been a good and educational experience for me. PRY

In the Boise Valley, probably $2500. Where is it located now? That determines alot.

Really need to see more details to provide a better guess at a value. Does it have power steering/brakes, disc brakes etc.? How is it running? Do you have any service records that document the miles or major work (new engine, trans,etc.). Tires look pretty old in the photos and they appear to still be on split rims. Assuming its a pretty basic truck (manual steering and brakes, drums all around) and it's running well, I'd say its worth about $1,000-$1,200.
