First off Id like to say Howdy all. I have a 1997 F-150 XLT with close to 600k on it by my estimation( the odometer broke in 01 at 188k) and I'd like to be come a great contributor and would hope this place is a lil more energetic than the last forum i went to.

Now Down to business.

My Truck has the Factory Drop in and bolt down liner...its going to come out one way or another. The question is do i replace it with a Spry on liner via a shop OR do i get a DIY kit and if so what kit.

Hello, If you had a liner from the factory for the 600,000 miles you mentioned, then you must have an idea of how well it served your needs. A spray-on liner is thinner and has got to be cheaper. I don't enough details of the various brands out there but you could ask the folks who own them when you see them. My friend's F-150 has a liner I never heard of before. It looks and feels bulletproof. I'll get the name if you want. Kira

 

What do you normally haul with your truck? Are you unhappy with the plastic bed liner ? Thanks

A Grill full of hot charcoal finally did my old liner in but that's not normal for a load, more typical is Wood or tools. I work on a Ranch and my truck is my biggest asset.

 

Good deal a good bed liner will treat you well!!! There are rhino liner and similar products to suit your needs. Not sure about being able to do it your self and having it last or not as I have not tried any of the products personally . Depends on how much money your willing to spend on a liner.

 

Well I'm looking at a Rhino Liner for about 400 bucks right now. I'm willing to spend enough that it will last me a few hundred thousand more miles....although my truck doesn't get near as many yearly miles as it used to.
