TheGageinator's Build thread with PICS!!
Figured id make a thread with the rebuild of my truck and put on some pics!!
So it all started 2 months ago when I bought my 94 f150 20 miles away. it was in a front end collision with NO frame damage. I got a really smoking deal. I spent about an hour in the guy's driveway trying to get the truck drivable and finally decided to try to make to 20 miles trip home... made it!! had a massive puncture in the radiator and I had to remove the hood and bend/break lots of things.
made it home!
after closer inspection, I found that the only damage was to the body panels, radiator, rad support, and some accessories.
the rebuild began!!
I got it all torn apart rather quickly. very straight foreward and easy.
New fender and Rad support on. I had to bend the part that comes off that cab towards the front of the truck that the fender bolts to near the firewall because it was VERY out of shape
hood on!
While I had everything apart, I noticed the waterpump/timing cover area was very oily/coolant covered. I decided to go ahead and change the waterpump/timingcover, timing chain set, and all gaskets and hoses.
had LOTS of problems with the timing cover studs, bought a new set
engine back together
installed class IV hitch. required drilling the frame
hooked up to my camper
couple interior shots
LOVE these factory wheels!
I decided to clean my throttle body. Look at all that buildup!!! 204k miles.
But why just clean when you can Port and POLISH!! and put a home made Plastic TB spacer on haha. I had to modify the throttle bracket/plate to accommodate the 1 inch spacer
Had to replace my clock spring. my horn/ cruise did not work. I also had an airbag light on.
Just installed some 1730 cfm Electric fans today. I read that the 5.0 requires 2500cfm so 2 1730 fans should work great. my fan clutch was so bad that I could grab it and spin in backwards while the truck was running. also ran hot. the while swap with fans, mounting kits, and wiring was only $60.

I am about to swap some stuff around. I have a 1994 f150 daily diver/camper hauler, and a 1993 f250 ext cab parts truck. BOTH are 2wd. I am going to swap the rear axle and suspension, and all of the front end components. (I MIGHT swap the 5speed into my truck also....havnt decided if i want to stick with my AODE)
a few reasons why-
Heavier duty duh(I know it will not increase my towing capacity)
To level/lift my saggy f150
I was going to purchase some antisway bar kits for the front and rear of my truck, but the f150 already has both!
because I can!
I have all the parts and I don't see why not. i will post as many pics and any helpful hints.
BTW, anyone done this recently that can throw some hints my way?

Wow, quite an accomplishment. Looks like your pretty talented and mechanically inclined.
Two questions - 1. When your camper is hooked up, does it sag in the back at all. I want to put a hitch on the back of mine, even though I won't be towing much, but when I stand in the bed, it seems like I'm bringing it down a bit. Maybe just an allusion.
2. I know this sounds dumb....but what is a throttle body and what does it do exactly? I know it somewhat does the job of a carb on a EFI engine, right? Where is it located at. I guess it would be good if I cleaned mine too.
Thanks for any help
