Well, I have the Bronco back. Total for the repair was $461.90. That is the problem with breaking down in the middle of nowhere, they got you by the you know whats. They replaced the starter, and the solenoid we put in on Saturday, they replaced one wire, and because they could not find the problem, they added a starter button! so now when I want to start the truck, I turn the key, then press the button at the bottom of the dash. And I paid $462 for this? LOL, still it gets me home, at least it will tomorrow morning when I leave here. Since I already paid for the night, I might as well stay and enjoy the AC.

I am going to chalk it up to experience. Looking back on this, I can see where my bad decisions have cost me a grand total of $1,143. That includes the repair, the tow, the 3 night stay, 3 days of eating at Denny's or calling for a pizza, and the drinks, shirt, hat and glasses I bought at Flying J which I would not have done had it not broke down. If I had waited until Wednesday and called AAA I could have had the Bronco towed home, then bought a starter at Pep Boys, I figure it would have been done for under $500. And of course, my first mistake was coming on this trip in the first place only a day after the truck ran crappy and I did not get it fixed because I wanted to make this trip.

Oh well, lesson learned.

Could be, I know I have an ignition switch at home somewhere, will have to find it once I get everything put away, maybe I'll get lucky and find it while I am putting everything away. LOL

Nice dogs guys. Ill post up after this heat wave and we venture to park. Glad to hear you got it going again Jim. Did you have a chance on tune up yet?
Bart traffic sure didnt materialize for me in fact had some fast times yesterday although just in case everybody else figured it out I am home today. My trips went from Livermore to Martinez area so I never had to go over the hill.
Have a nice day gang

No, I did not have it tuned up. Not at the prices this guy is charging. I'll wait until I get home and get settled, then take it in to Pep Boys. I'll also pick up some electric window lifts. I am so tired of not being able to roll these down. LOL. I want to leave here by 5am but it may be a little later than that, maybe 5:15am. Should get home about 8:30 am or so. Barring any other problems of course.

Yeah, I woke up at 4am and could not sleep, so I got up and got everything ready, and left Lebec at 5:30am, arrived at home a little before 8am.

The Comcast guy just left, so now I have internet! Still in the middle of putting things away from the move, but at least I have internet.

yea I have Comcast now, and the three monitors arrived today along with 3 other packages. Wasn't expecting anything today. Still trying to get finished unpacking. And this swamp cooler is not cutting it, will have to buy an air conditioner or two tomorrow. Picked up my surround sound stereo today and a DVD recorder so I can copy all my tapes to DVD, but I forgot to get some blank DVD-R's I got two packs of Blu-ray disc recordables, but not DVD'.

I agree, way too hot here. I am trying to put things away after move, but without AC it is slow going.

Hope everybody has a great day.
