Power loss and noise 2007 6.0

Hi,

We have a 2007 F350 6.0L. We just paid it off and are having all kinds of problems.

Blown head gasket last fall. Replaced at Ford Dealer, along with other associated components, at great expense. At the recommendation of Ford put on "racing" head bolts vs Ford stock bolts. $$$$$$$$

FICM goes bad. Get one from Ed and after much cursing, get installed.

Two months ago, cracked rear engine cover. Had to be replaced. $$$
At this time, hubby had SCT EGR delete kits installed. $$$

Loved the power and performance with the EGR delete kit.

Last week, truck starts making a humming-buzzing-vibrating-almost an air sound/flutter ( hard to describe). Not too loud. Then it quits making noise. Then noise comes back. Make appt at Diesel shop to check out this coming Monday. Meanwhile, a new problem appears. Hubby says the truck started making a rattle he thought was coming from exhaust. Then, a day later, no power, no boost, he says it is making an awful sound.

Any ideas on the bad $$$ news?? I am terrified as our budget is very slim and we need this vehicle to operate. Does not work very hard, orginally used to move small to medium size boats once in a while ( well under capacity). Mostly used as family truck now, hauling son's baseball gear all over town to tourneys. Mix of highway and local driving.

Will do. Can you provide a little detail on how these would cause the symptoms I described? What are we looking for? Cracks, loose clamps, I presume?? Are they devastingly expensive $$$$$$ to replace?

Yes cracks rips ,air leaking thru , the truck will loose boost ,don't forget the one down by the batteries both sides lower radiator. Riff raff diesel if needed has the better price and better than OEM.

Would they have been disconnected during the recent engine cover repair or egr delete kit install? I was reading about them and it seems that once disturbed, if not reinstalled correctly ( ie clamps torqued properly ) they can work loose. Does not seem to be too bad a price for parts ( under $200) if needed. What is labor ( hours) usually to install? Just trying to avoid total sticker shock on Monday....

Depending on how they did the EGR delete, I'm thinking you have an exhaust leak in the y-pipe/EGR cooler/turbo connections either where the y-pipe attaches to the turbo (between fire wall and turbo) or where the y-pipe attaches to EGR cooler (if that connection still exists) See the pic's in the links below for more clarity.

sounds like the CAC or one of the bellows leading to the turbo. that would also explain the lack of boost
