Exclamation high varying idle

i have a 92 f150 5.0l and one day i drove it and it would idle really high and it varies in sped abit up and down, when i drive down the street its like i'm using cruise control when i'm not because of how high my rpms are. do i have a bad sensor or something? -thanks in advance

any ideas?, it just idles really high and the rpms go up and down a little but it idles real high all the time

Check for codes...and check for IAC and TPS operation.

thanks i'm going to clean my IAC with TB cleaner first, how to i check/adjust the TPS?

Let me dig in to that and see what Mr. Haynes has to say about that...

With the key on, engine not running, back probe the ground and signal wires with a multimeter. With the throttle closed, voltage should be .5-1.0 VDC, manually open the throttle fully, check voltage again, should be 4.0-5.0 VDC. The voltage should start changing as soon as you start moving the throttle.

i took it fot a short drive and when i got home there was a screaming noise from under the hood like a kettle boiling
