Replacing gas tanks with fuel cell?

So what would I need to do to replace the gas tanks on my 95 with a fuel cell? I been thinking about doing it just unsure of what I would need for pumps and I know I would probably need to run a mechanical gauge. Can anyone help me?

why because its different and my front tank is already shot cause of rust. I already have the truck with a flat bed so was going to place it at the front of the bed in a cage designed to sit around it. I was thinking about a 20 or 25 gallon

I'm also curious as to why.
You can either get a bronco rear tank at 38 gal or F68 (f something) tank for 35-40 and they both bolt right in.
I am not a fan of the side tank because with the lighter springs in my truck I always think its sitting lower on drivers side.
A replacement tank is only 100$ or so, and everything involved with a fuel cell will be more. And it will take up space in your bed.
If you were going to go through it all to replace the factory tanks, I'd get more than a 20-25.
As a reccomendation, and what I did in one of my offroad trucks, was I got a 60 gal tank from a school bus (gm is low pressure and requires an inline high pressure pump) because its already setup for a pump and return. You may even find that the ford busses have the correct pump already.
Check it out.

In many states YES.

And like UNTAMND said. Why waste bed space with a fuel tank.
And why put in such a SMALL one at that.

The F26-D fuel tank is a replacement for the rear tank. It is a 38 gallon and bolts right in with all your stock hardware(and supplied hardware) They are only about $150(with shipping)

Diesel Brad, please elaborate on the F26-D fuel tank you spoke of, I live in TX, a lot of highways, and my little 18 gallon? tank does not last long, I was looking into the Bronco tank through LMC, but I have to get all the Bronco hardware to go with it. This F26-D, is it a direct bolt in?

Well the bronco tank is just as easy to install. All I do is use bronco pickup and pump assembly in the bronco tank, then use threaded rod and the original straps to hold the tank in.
You can lengthen the truck pickup to get the pump deeper into the bronco tank, but then the fuel gauge isn't correct.

F-26 tank is a kit I believe. Comes with stuff to make it an easy swap.

Correct. It is a direct bolt in and comes with everything needed to replace the original 18.2 - 19gallon REAR Tanks

Thanks for the info on the swap.

And 1loud89, the only way I would go with a fuel cell would be if I needed a lot of fuel for long hauls. By a lot I mean at least 50 gallons. Or if you were driving a much older truck where the fuel tank was inside the cab.
