different transfer cases
When did Ford go from the slip yoke style t case to the flat flange
For example
95 was slip yoke
97 was flat

I'm working on a '96 right now for a friend that has the BW4407 with a flat flange.

'96 and '97 had the 4407 with the companion flange. '95 and back had the 1356 with the slip yoke.

bill while i have your ear
ive removed 2 zf5 trans from 2 parts trucks and neither had a shim plate between the trans and engine is this correct??? i know the zf6 does

Yeah, the only thing between the engine and trans is the thick aluminum adapter that the starter bolts to.
