Tremor.

It figures. 7 months after buying a RCSB F150, Ford announces a performance package on them. I could use a tax writeoff, I just may have to trade!

Sticking a 4.10 rear behind an Ecoboost is asinine. Maybe great for a dragster, but it totally eliminates the benefit of the EB - strong acceleration/load handling combined with good fuel economy during unloaded cruise.

Even the name sounds sissy. Tremor? Coming behind a line of vehicles that include the Lightning and Raptor? The name sounds like it really wants to be a performance truck... but just can't quite get there.

My humble $0.02, of course

Agree on the Tremor....would lose the sticker if I bought one.

The idea is a performance truck like the lightning so losing the good fuel economy during unloaded cruise is kinda that point.

But it's not a Lightning. It's a garden variety Ecoboost, it just happens to be dropped into a slightly shorter truck. It's not making more power, it's not lowered, nothing.

Maybe the Tremor is just prelude to the Earthquake which will feature an Ecoboost 5.0, lowered suspension, AWD for launch, etc. A real performance truck.

I'd like one in 4x4 (which the article says is offered). Great power, low gearing, and short wheel base= awesome little trail truck.

Is the Earthquake a real concept forthcoming or are you just engaging in wishful thinking?

Earthquake sounds more like a natural disaster that Chevy could use to follow the Avalanche.

I bet the 4.10 gears gets better mileage than the 3.55 or 3.31 equipped trucks get...

Unless you count getting an Eco in a RCSB, with 4.10 gears. That qualifies as a performance package (Just like the Ram R/T, not as a performance truck, but quicker than the other models using the same engine & drivetrain) because these are things not normally offered that would make this little truck much quicker than any other combination in an F150. They should've turned up the boost a bit & called it a Lightning. MY 13 F150 5.0 RCSB is almost as quick as my 00 Lightning was stock. This package would probably be a bit quicker that the gen 2 lightning stock. Maybe Ford is saving the "Lightning" name for the 2015+ version with lighter weight & more power.....

What it needs is an Eco 5.0 and sport suspension for the 2wd model, take away the traction control and add a bed cover. And loose the stickers.

Gosh, if that's a sport truck then it needs to come with a disclaimer, "some assembly required" since the owner will have to treat it with an injection of steroids to make it anything special.

Hopefully SVT team is working on something a little more wicked.
