I want to replace the stock AM/FM radio in my 2007 with a radio/CD player.
I don't need super-fancy or really expensive, but one that sounds at least as good as stock.
Any brands/models I should consider? I'm looking for a plug and play. I do not want to re-wire connectors or anything else.
There are connecters that you will have to wire into your new stereo but plug directly into the factory harness. That way, if you decide to sell the truck, you can pull the aftermarket radio and reinstall the original one with ease. You will also need to buy an install kit. Wally World sells the kits for about $15 and the red butt connectors are around $6 for the 24ea pack. Dont be afraid to tackle this job. It is super easy and you will feel like you accomplished something! Otherwise, go to Best Buy or some other stereo shop that installs for free or cheap.
I can handle splicing new connectors to a new stereo. I just don't want to cut the factory wires. As mentioned above, an install kit will take care of that issue.
So... anyone have a suggestion for an aftermarket radio/CD player?
Go to crutchfield.com they have the best selection and great prices. The best part is the wiring harness, install kit, and vehicle specific wiring diagram is included free. And if that isn't helpful enough, they have a 24 hr install helpline if you get stuck

I bought a JVC from cruchfield for around $129. In my area, there are HD radio stations so I bought a HD radio. Kinda cool that you get extra stations that are not available on regular radios and they are free! Good luck on your installation.
