I did stay with a shackle flip only I tossed the hangers in the garbage and put some front hangers on the rear for more lift and the shackle angle turned out perfect and flexed nicely.

What hanger did you use for the rear? Did you move it any? Entertain us with some pics...

used a 80s front hanger off a f250 with 3in wide leafs... no I didn't move it back at all because of the spring loaded bumper mounts. I simply tacked in place as a mock up to see how the shackle angle turned out, it looked good with weight on it so I then grinded the welds off and used the orig top back bolt hole on the frame for the hanger and then measured to make it somewhat level the end result turned out good and I was still able to only drill 3 holes into the frame. I will have to get a pic of the end result but I will share the mockup picture. I did have to grind a little bit for the lower part of the bumper mounts so the hanger would clear where the shackle bolts to when hanger is bolted onto frame

One thing I will need to do is drop the front hangers down 2- 2.5 inches to account for the pinion angle and to pull the driveshaft off the slip yolk a little bit. You will see why not moving the axle back beneficted the build soon. I apologize a bit for spelling errors and grammar since I a wee bit sleepy as I type this.

the leafs are worn out a little bit but not as bad as they looked, it looks flat because I didn't drop the front hanger yet.

I was just goin off what mine looks like, I flipped my rear hanger upside down. When I get 4-6" lift coils I'm gonna get a front hanger and throw it on the rear...

I've actually been whatching your build thread it looks like its coming along nicely. The lift you did using the stock hanger flip only gives a inch or maybe a little more of lift where a front hanger in rear with shackle flip gives 4in-6in when I drop the front hangers down a little more the leafs will look angled instead of flat right now. while the rear is figured out the front lift is a little bit of an issue but ill get into that later

ok now that I have a little free time I figured id give more info on build/plans.

Keep in mind this is a EXTREMELY low budget build so there will be a lot of fabrication and swapping parts off of a few older fords.

I pondered on running a flatbed for awhile, the orig flatbed consisted of 4x4s cut out in the shape of the frame rails and simply bolted down and then boards nailed across it. it was a pretty well put together flatbed but sat really low and stuck out a bit and wasn't the best. I thought about building a steel framed flatbed with wood boards but that would've costed $ and time and I honestly preferred a box. I knew how many people inculuding me don't like the looks of 80s boxes on the 73-79 fords so I got my hands on this-

had a garden growing in the back of it literally..... can't really see it because it was fall when that pic was taken. 3-4 inches of dirt with moss and and weeds a foot high in summer.

the passenger side was the spot of bothers but the drivers side is in good shape and the floor is mostly surface rust but its pretty thin in some spots.
