Truck Spray-In Bed Liner Chipped out?
The sprayed in bed liner on my truck has about a one squareinch chip in it. Have any of you hadthis problem? If so, did yourepair/patch it yourself? If so whatmaterial did you use and was the patch process fairly simple to do? Did your fix last?
Don’t want to go to spray–in liner dealer to get it fixed.

The reason it is chipped is that I carry a large wooden box between the tailgate and the hitch. The box has angle iron on the corners and they rubbed up onthe face of the tail gate and chipped it out. Fortunately the spot is on thetail gate access cover that covers the latching mechanism.
I remove the cover and took it to a local upfitter who will scrape off theold spray and will re-spray it.
Now I just need to find a way to protect that area from the box jumpingaround as we travel on the highways.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

pbeering, we think along the same lines. Exactly what I'm trying to work out. The box was not tied down and as a result chipped the liner. My fault, so live and learn. Will figure something out. Need a material softer than the spray in liner on the box corners and something that can be replaced if it wears down too thin.
