Bumper hitch
#16
I was able to rent the 6x12 enclosed trailer, and as he hooked it up he told me they normally do not let anyone tow it with a bumper hitch, but he said he would let me do it this one time. My issue came when he tried to hook up the wiring. Apparently, I have an older style 7 pin connector that takes a bullet adapter which he does not sell. So I went to Autozone which he recommended, but they did not have them, so I ended up getting one at Pep Boys. The Bronco towed the trailer with no problems, it was a local in town move, but I still went about 8 miles on the freeway, and it was fine. I will still buy and have installed a frame mounted hitch so I can tow more easily in the future, and I'll keep that wiring adapter for future use as well.

Yeah my dad gave me this bumper mounted 2 inch receiver hitch. I was surprised they allowed it over bumper pull. Same weight rating as the bumper itself. Well the guys at u haul tell me the main reason for the receiver hitch is to be able to back up and turn tight with the different tongues. They have trouble clearing on bumper pull hitches. I will be using u haul trailers again. Rented a u haul truck it cost over 100$ for 16 miles. The trailer was unlimited miles for 45$.
