96 F150 parts truck

Year: 1996
Make: Ford
Model: F-150
Price: $600
Mileage: 135000
Color: greenish
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): MI
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
Color: Green
Engine: 300 I6

Folks,

I have a 96 F150 XL. I want to sell it as a parts vehicle and if it does not get sold I will be scrapping it out.

It is a standard cab 2WD long bed 300 I6 AOD with an aluminum cap and a reciever hitch. It has been my daily driver for over 10 years and is rusty. It has 135K miles and runs and drives well (except it pulls). I even drove it to work two weeks ago. If anyone needed a good running engine/trans/computer this would be it.

The following list tells what is wrong with the truck and what should be fixed to return it to a DD. It is more than I am willing to fix.

Front Brake line leak, I put a plug in the front master cyl port so that it is at least stopable
Needs new tires
Both fuel tanks leak
Needs front end work/alignment, at least one bad ball joint
Needs exhaust work
Oil pan gasket leak, not terrible but it leaves spots on the ground.

The good stuff.

Engine and trans are solid.

The engine runs very well, the oil has been changed regularly and in 3K miles no oil has to be added. I have never been into the engine, never had to do anything to it except I replaced the plugs once and the distributor cap and rotor a couple of times.

The tranny shifts smoothly and works like a champ. Right after I bought it I installed a trans cooler and I have changed the oil and filter a couple of times.

The truck.

It is a barebones truck, no AC, carpeting, cruse control or power windows/door locks. It has a bench seat with out any rips and a grey interior. I had the windshield replaced a couple of years ago and the truck has a rear slider window. I have replaced u-joints, front shocks and most of the brackets under the truck for the radius arms, shackles etc. It has good brakes at each corner and a couple of years after I purchased it I replaced the rear axle seals. I have never towed anything with it, even though it has a good hitch (I do believe the PO used the bumper hitch though). The truck is rusty, since it spent it's life in SW Michigan (where plenty of salt is used in the winter).

So, I do not know what else to say about it except is it worth $600 to you?

BTW the truck is in Niles Michigan.

Thanks for reading.

Is any one interested? It would be a shame if the drive train was sent to the JY. So, what is it worth to you?

OK,
I might be interested in a truck of the same year that is 4WD that could use a dependable and proven I6. If you have a southern or western vehicle that is similar, shoot me a PM.
