AUX problem (2007 F-150)

Hey guys, just got my truck a couple of days ago and I'm having an issue.
I couldn't find another thread about my exact problem but if I missed it, I'm sorry for the re-posting.

Anyway, the problem is regarding the AUX button for an MP3 Player. The jack is located at the top of the dashboard right in the center. I bought a brand new AUX cable just for MP3's and iPods. I would be using an iPhone but I don't think that matters. So I followed the instructions in the manual on how to set it up, no luck. I keep pushing the AUX button until it registers my device. It just says no AUX Audio. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks!

iPods/iPhones are finicky about cables. Do you have a regular iPod that you can plug into it, or even a regular ol' mp3 player that you can plug in?

The aux input may work, just have to test a few things upstream first to rule them out.

By the way, welcome to FTE!
