Titan replacement tank vs. in bed aux tank

So I'm looking to add a bigger tank to my truck (with the unfortunate 26 gallon stock tank) and am deciding between the Titan full replacement tank or a in-bed aux tank or combo box. Anyone have any suggestions/advice?

The in-bed tank will hold much more than a Titan Tank but you'll lose some bed space. Might also have to refill the trucks tank manually unless it's plumbed into it.

I would plan on routing it in to my factory tank. I need a toolbox anyways so space isn't really my concern. I'm just curious about differences in quality/value. If I were to get a combo box, it probably wouldn't be more than 50 gallons anyways, so fuel quantity isn't really an issue either.

I have an RDS 60 gallon tank/toolbox combo. I had it on my old truck and eventually I'll get around to wiring it up in the new truck. I used the RDS gravity feed kit, but put an electric fuel pump inline. I just flip a switch in the cab and refuel going down the road if need be. Works great.

I've got a 45 gallon RDS tank. Plumbed into the filler neck by gravity. I put in electric shut off switch wired to one of my upfitter switches. I lost a foot of my bed to this tank but I love it. Especially when I'm pulling my camper.

1 vote for the Titan. I have over 100,000 miles with the Titan tank now. Everything is great. Empty I have over 1000 miles range and towing I have over 500 miles range. Much better than the 2-300 mile range I originally had. It doesn't hang down much and it doesn't take up any bed space.

My $.02

X2 for the Titan. Why sacrifice bed space?

I went for the 50 gallon Titan on my 2011 F250 CC short bed diesel, and I have no regrets.

I'm thinking of going with the Titan, though I wish the PCM could be reprogramed to indicate the correct range on the HUD. I think I'll have to wait anyways because I assume installing it voids all warranties...?

I don't know about the warranties. Wouldn't think it would void everything, only those things that might be caused by the tank.

The mileage to empty is not a problem. The fuel gauge just reads full for a long time. Once the fuel gauge starts moving the DTE is pretty accurate.

My truck goes 2-400 miles before the fuel gauge starts moving below the full mark.

The other nice thing about the Titan tank is it fills all the way up on the first shut off of the pump. There is no need to dribble gallons into the tank like we have to do with the stock tank. (Or harpoon it)

You have to dribble? I haven't had any issues like that with my 26 gallon stock, though that might be due to having a 6.7L.

The 6.0 & 6.4 were definitely dribblers.

The Titan's will give a cleaner look but the in-bed tank's will hold much more, my DeeZeee in-bed tank hold's 100 gallons on it's own plus the factory tank, also only cost around $750 with a HD Fill-Fite electric pump while the Titan Tanks are pushing $1500 with install.
