1960 F100 03-07 CROWN VIC SWAP
HI, my name is Matt and I jus recently bought a 1960 F100. I'm looking to swap an 03-07 Crown Vic IFS. My truck has had a lot of work done to it already, but is all stock. I originally bought this truck because I knew I could easily double or triple my money back.
Now, I cannot part with her and want to make her a show/parade truck. I signed on to Ford-Truck.com to get advice from those who have already ventured here.
My truck is getting the work done from a buddy who owns a suspension shop and I am supplying the parts.
Is there anyone who can help me make the right decisions on this swap???

Thanks Maltman I've been reading quite a bit on this situation I put myself in... Ther's been several posts on what to do, but that's their truck, I don't know if that's what I should do.
Thanks Number,
I've found several 03-06 county cruisers that have "panther suspensions" I guess is what they have been called. Two of the three salvage yards I've checked will sell one for $400? Is that reasonable? Another yard will sell the rear end for another $150 if it has disc brakes... I don't want too much money in this cause I'm on a limited budget.
Another post I've read on here is instead of using the 03 rear end, used a 94 Vic rear end cause the rear end on the 03 is wider than the front. And the 94 is narrower and have to use adapters or spacers to align the rear with the front. In your opinion what would you recommend on the rear end swap?

"Panther" was FoMoCo's 'in-house' name for the following 'downsized' cars: 1979/81 LTD / 1979/2010 Grand Marquis / 1980/2012 Lincoln Town Car / 1982/2011 Crown Victoria.
LTD became Crown Victoria in 1982, because the IDIOTS at FoMoCo didn't want to confuse it with new LTD mid-size fox body introduced in 1983.
The Mercury version was called Marquis. 1985/86's were available as Police Cruisers, as they came with the same 302 hipo installed in Mustang GT's (another fox body).
Both of the little bastads were cancelled at the end of the 1986 model run.
Renaming LTD as Crown Vic didn't help one damn bit, as the general public, garages and body shops didn't know one from another. It was a FIASCO!

I bought an 04 county cruiser IFS Monday for $500, suppose to pick it up Thursday or Friday. My buddy has a parts list for me on the air bags. It seems like everything is coming together although I might have paid too much for the IFS. I could've bought a 97 Vic running for $1000 but it's not what I was looking for.

Damifiknow,
I looked in the glove box and it had been painted over and it looked like someone had tried to scrape it off to see it at one time.. most of it is visible except the parts where the date, trans, axle and RPM are really scratched bad and I didn't bring my glasses with me as well. It looks like to me there's a 23JA in the middle of all that but I'm not sure and it doesn't make sense on that link you sent me.
I did post some pics and theres a couple good ones of the motor n tranny. If youre still interested let me know, if not I'm fixing to buy another 60 F100 but it's not nearly as good of shape as this one. My son wants it so I figured I'd just put the motor I pulled out of mine and put it in his... He's 10, so he's got some time to decide whether he wants it as his first ride or not. That truck needs A LOT of work, but for now that's what he wants.
