My dear hubby got me some truck parts for Christmas! Now I just need to peel him away from his projects and get him to focus on our joint endeavor! The gears are on their way, so he has a little bit of time before I really start to nag

Peter- don't feel lazy. I have put in zero work/play time since the end of August. I don't think I'll be able to spend much time in the garage until after May, though. This upcoming semester is gonna be a killer.

I love what your doing with the truck . Interested in what you are putting in for gears , Where they came from, and did you pay with a arm or kidney . My 56 F 250 has 4=56 gears and I think something like 3-56 would be better .

Thanks, Doc.
I have a Dana 60 rear axle so there are more options. We went with the 3.73 gears. The gears are USA Standard Ring and Pinion gear set. In order to use 4.10 and down gears you need to have the 4.10 and down carrier (16 spline), which Santa sourced off of Ebay.
As she sits now, any speed over 35 mph produces a body jarring, headache inducing rattle that requires the passenger to stick their arm out the window and hold their door steady because the door seal has disappeared. I've also found that a sandal wedged/shut in between the door and the rocker panel helps resolve the door rattling. I'm looking forward to driving down the highway and not the back roads next summer (once the salt clears!)

School comes first. It pains me to say that, but, it is the cold, hard truth.

Work has still been slow on the truck due to this little dude, but now that he's arrived, his introduction to old iron has commenced and someday soon he will be fetching wrenches and learning naughty words!
