'59/'60 Custom Cab 4x4 Sitting In The Weeds

I need some help sorting this one out gents. The wife and I are in Oregon visiting our son and his family. Our son Michael took me to see this abandoned half ton 4x4. Is it a real original 4x4, or was it made into a 4x4 is one question. I didn't see the cab supports I've read about, and wasn't gonna crawl through the wild blackberries and bees to get a look under it. The VIN tag says F10COR14906; (?)-18 JM F-100 14K A01; 5000 146 3800. Since I'm working off the phone I sent pics to Mark (thundersnow70) to see if he or Ryan can post them. Thanks guys. Stu

1959: First year FoMoCo offered factory installed 4WD in F100/250's. F10C0R14906: This is a 1960 as the 5th digit of the VIN is a zero.

C = 292 2V / R = Assembled in San Jose CA / 14906: 1960 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

Ford confusion: 1959/60: First 3 digits of VIN (series code) begin with F10 (or F25), decode to 2WD or 4WD

Only the MODEL code stamped on the Rating Plate, once decoded, defines whether it's a 2WD or 4WD

Since the MODEL code is F100, this was a 2WD originally, may have had a frame, Rating Plate or body swap.

118" Wheelbase / JM: J = Red & M = White / 14K = Assembled October 14, 1959 / A = Ford 3 speed manual / 01 = Ford 9" - 3.70-1 - No Limited Slip / 5,000 lbs. GVWR / 146 net HP @ 3,800 RPM
