My dad gave me his 2002 SD.when I had it in the driveway today with the hood up the neighbor came over and we were looking at the truck when he pointed a few bolt holes on top of the intake manifold near the alternator and said it looked like there was a cover that was missing offthe motor..did tthese engines have covers on them?

 

MY 2007 5.4L does not have a cover.

 

IIRC the 4.6 motors had a cover but I have yet to see one on a 5.4 or a V10. You have the 2V motor so there wouldn't be an airbox on top.

 

yup.. its called the hood... LOL.. no none on them.. just the one over the throttle body

My 04 5.4l never had a cover my dad got it from the dealer new and it never had one.

 

My 2000 doesn't have one either.

I agree with the others. I've had 5 of the mod motors and none of them had a cover
