Does anyone know how much a stock rebuild would cost for a 7.3?

Hey Zack are you still looking for donor truck? It's not a 4x4 f350, but it has the dash and stuff you might be looking for.

I'm still looking for one, but since my dad bought a new f250 for work, we don't really have the storage room for my donor truck so that's going to be on hold for now

I have been wrapping up the body work (slowly) just have to decide what color.

I was thinking just the dash, and electronics for the engine, and of course the diesel. It is a 2 wd.

I'm pretty sure you need to swap the front cross (engine mounts etc) member as well, not sure if a 2WD donor would work.

I believe the mounts line up but the cross is to shallow on a gasser.

Somewhere in the 7.3 thread there is a guy that went from a 460 to a PSD and I know he had to change the cross member. He also said something along the lines of, "If you're going to do this swap, you MUST have a complete donor truck."

That being said, a PSD Bronco would be bad ***. I've seen them before under the "Super Bronco" badge. Looks like Super Duty but says Bronco instead.

Those are shortened excursions. I've seen a couple of those too, that would have been a bad *** truck for Ford to have built.

I know a guy who has 1/7 professionally built by Ford engineers. I'm thinking of selling my bronco and getting a PSD instead. Then just find a bronco body instead.

Thoughts?

Btw the bronco has been my baby for 5 years and in the family for 9 years.

FWIW to rebuild a 7.3 it can be done for around 3-8k depending on what all your having done or if you do the work yourself it can be cheaper, theres a couple options, you could do this
Riffraff Diesel: Ford Overhaul Kit

or check out swamps diesel performance with there assembled engines
Assembled Performance Engines - Swamp's Diesel Performance

I'll be doing the rebuild myself and it would just be for new parts because most of the ones I had found were 280k-340k miles on em.

It would probably just be a re-ring/seal kit, maybe a few minor upgrades too.

I don't know much about diesels but I'm learning every day (or trying!)
