Ranch hand grille guard installation?
I'm getting ready to buy a Ranch Hand Legend grille guard for my 2012 F350 and was wondering how hard these are to install on your own? I would like to install it myself in order to save some money. Is there anyone out there who has done the install their selves? How difficult is it?

I think that there is a 2 part video on you tube. I will probably put one on my truck soon. to me looks like the best thing you could have would be some extra hands. I plan on using the loader on my tractor to hold it up, I believe that its around 140 pounds. sorry I could not help more good luck, post some pics when you get done.

I was looking at mine the other day and there's just a few bolts (I think 8 of them). Hardest part is the weight (obvious, right) and not scratching the paint while sliding the bumper up to the fenders. When they installed my mine they scratched the paint, so is life and I didn't raise a stink about it.

Just watched the videos. Not really much info on them as far as the specific steps to take but the guy said it took him about 2 hours to install which isn't too bad. The key piece of equipment appears to be a loader or fork lift to hold it up. My John Deere should do just fine with it.

I installed mine back in Jan of 2011.. I used a hydraulic floor jack centered under it and had a friend stabilize it while I bolted it up from underneath.. Had to cut small holes in the lower plastic but well worth it.. I stand on it every time the hood is up.. Great addition to any SD..!!

Legend grill guard install
I installed mine by myself with the help of some ratchet straps. I hung the grill guard by the ceiling joists of my carport and ratcheted it to the correct height. I had all my tools ready, one of the bolts from each side of the bumper mount removed, then sat underneath be truck bumper, held it up with my knees, unbolted the last bolt and immediately swung the grill guard into place and replaced one of the stock bolts. A little measuring and adjusting then tightened them down. I had measured and pre-cut the slots for the supports that go through the valance and then attached them afterwards. It totally goes against the "work smarter not harder" philosophy, but I have no patience and endured the headache and the end result was near perfect. If I had to do it again, I would definitely call a buddy!
